Book cover for From Carmel to Jerusalem

In 1986, two significant international conferences took place in Israel, separate but linked. Each had an identity of their own, yet were dependent on each other. One was small and exclusive, the other large and inclusive. The small event was held in an isolated location near Mount Carmel, while the large conference was held in the bustling metropolis of West Jerusalem. They could hardly have been greater in contrast yet they were inextricably linked together.

The Mount Carmel event was a gathering of men and women with prophetic ministries, together with an equal number of intercessors who were there to support and uphold those whose prime ministry was to hear from God. It was a truly international gathering of men and women with prophetic ministries from more than forty nations representing every region of the world. They were each invited to bring a trusted intercessor so that there was someone to pray with them in their own language.

Th objective was twofold. First to share what each of those with prophetic insight was hearing from God in their own nation and region of the world; and secondly to wait upon the Lord collectively to discern what God was saying both to His church and to the nations of the world today.

The Jerusalem gathering resulted from a general invitation to believers around the world to come together for a week of biblical teaching focusing largely upon the message of the prophets and their relevance for today. A second major purpose was to hear from those who had been at Carmel what they had been hearing from the Lord.

This booklet is a report and commentary on the two events to help people understand the times we live in.
