Church growth montage

Although the church has been growing worldwide since the days of Pentecost, in the 70s it was stagnating and starting to decline in many Western nations  There were lessons to be learned. Monica was at the forefront of the UK section of a 20th century world-wide movement stimulated by Donald McGavran, a leading missiologist whose work substantially changed the methods of relating evangelism and religious conversion in the essential task of mission.

In the 1970s Monica established (and led for more than 20 years) the British Church Growth Association (BCGA), a networking organisation out of which came the Church Planting Initiative (CPI), the Small Church Network (SCN), Natural Church Development (NCD) and a Global and European Matters (GEM) section as well as a strong research and publications department. Monica became an early president of the European Church Growth Association (ECGA) and the BCGA published the quarterly journal, the ‘Church Growth Digest’, which later became 'Healthy Church'.

C&M has many archival documents relating to the different aspects of this subject. These are gradually being digitalised and will be added here when available.
