Natural Church Development, A Practical Guide to a New Approach
Natural Church Development (NCD) is a concept developed in Germany by Christian Schwarz. In this book he presents practical conclusions drawn from the most comprehensive study ever conducted on the causes of church growth. This fresh approach offers new insights into church growth, both qualitative and quantitative.
Schwarz recognised that growing bigger does not always lead to a healthy church and that, within each individual church situation, there were different factors which affected the health of that church. This Handbook outlines Schwarz' research and the programme he developed to help Churches access their strengths of a church and use them to enhance their weaknesses, thus encouraging growth.
Background History
This book has been translated from the original German by the British Church Growth Association. BCGA were given the rights to translate Schwarz's teaching into English and to develop a full programme that could be used by churches in Britain.
This is the first in a series of Natural Church Development books published by the BCGA.
