This fresh look at conversion, a subject at the basis of the Christian faith is often latent or nominal and puts it back on the main agenda of the church. It can mean many different things to different groups. Among the many well-known and well qualified speakers and contributors are George Carey, then Principal of Trinity College Bristol but later Archbishop of Canterbury and Lesslie Newbigin, the significant missiologist, who had retired to Birmingham.

The second National Conference of the BCGA had tackled the different understandings of the meaning of Conversion and following the success of the first one on ‘How to Plant Churches’ the papers went into print soon after but never had the same attraction
