Under the auspices of PWM, BCGA and CCM, four Evangelical Christians from within different branches of the Charismatic Movement undertook a review of the history and direction it was taking when it was at its height in the 1990s. Of special interest and concern was the impact being made by the Toronto Blessing considered to be a Child of its Age. Its roots are explored alongside the role of both Prophecy and Renewal at that time.
Background History
The original publication followed closely on two Leadership Consultations held in Bawtry Hall in January and March 1995 which were attended by a number of leaders concerned about the growing disunity being experienced in the Western church in particular. The book drew together a collection of papers presented, reviewed and prayed over in an attempt to identify and rectify the apparent failings of the church at that time. It has been reprinted a number of times and also published in other languages. An electronic upgraded reprint was serialised in Prophecy Today during 2017 and 18 as its relevance continued.
