Many church growth principles were personally developed by Monica Hill, drawing in her inner-city experience in the East End of London in the 1970s. These principles were confirmed as being of universal value by missiologists from other areas in the world at that time – especially from Donald McGavran and Lesslie Newbigin with their backgrounds of mission to India.
