Book cover for Today with Ezekiel Vol 1

This is the first of 2 volumes and covers Chapters 1 – 21.  Ezekiel was a young man from a priestly family who was among those exiled into Babylon who showed them how to live fruitfully when under pressure and also became a prophetic link with those who remained in the land.

Ezekiel is widely recognised as the architect of modern Judaism, founding the synagogue, and establishing the Sabbath as central to the spiritual life of the nation.

Dr Hill brings the message of Ezekiel to life with these books, each set out with a passage and explanations for daily reading.

Background History

In 2023, Cliff and Monica had been stimulated to study more deeply the Old Testament writings and life-story of this 6th Century BC prophet reflecting his years in Exile in Babylon feeling this could be a valuable follow-up to the volumes on Isaiah and Jeremiah in the ‘Today with the Prophets’ series of daily Bible readings.

Ten years earlier Cliff and Monica had led tours of Jerusalem at a time when clay tablets had just been discovered in recent excavations which had added so much more to everyone’s knowledge of how the Jewish faith survived during those shattering years and its relevance for our understanding and behaviour today

During 2016 and 2017 they had written a study Guide ‘Living in Babylon’ accompanied by a Workbook for small groups entitled ‘Living Victoriously in Babylon’ which became very helpful webinars when the Covid virus hit the nation - and the world - bringing even more challenging changes to face.
